Family Trip to Scotland

So last week me my mum and my dad went up to Scotland to see my dad's side of the family. We tend to go up there once or twice a year and it's nice to see everyone and visit the usual places. My family all live in and around Kirkcaldy which is about an hour north of Edinburgh.

However this was the first year of going to Scotland in august at the time of the Edinburgh fringe festival that I actually got to see a show. Being a drama student I don't know how I have managed that! I went to see Jon Cozart who has a YouTube channel called Paint which if you have been on the internet for even a short amount of time you have probably seen his videos either After Ever After of the one that introduced me to his channel Harry Potter in 99 Seconds. His show was very good although I am a fan of his channel, but my parents who are definitely not fans even enjoyed the shows.

The rest of the week was also lovely so I thought I would share (quite) a few photos of my week.

BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend

So It has been just over a week since Radio 1's big weekend came to Norwich!

It has taken a while for it all to sink in. I had been counting down the days and then it is suddenly over.

A little bit of context if you don't know what the big weekend is. It is a 2 day festival run by the BBC and is completely free (except from an online booking fee of the grand total of £7) it is the biggest free festival in Europe. It has been running for about 10 years and tends to go to smaller cities such as Carlisle, Dundee and Swindon. This year it came to my home town of Norwich.

The day was brilliant, despite the rain (although what would be an English festival without rain eh?) By far my favourite act of the day was Taylor Swift, she has fast become my favourite artist at the moment and her performance was impeccable, Her performance was flawless which is the same as her vocals. I couldn't believe that I was standing there watching her, so much so that i did have a little happy cry while she was performing.

However Imagine Dragons were also brilliant, the atmosphere of everyone singing along and the energy that Dan Reynolds (lead singer) produced really got the crowd going. It also helped that the sun had just started to come out after a very wet beginning to the festival.

Although by the end of the day everything was hurting and I felt like I could sleep for a week the whole day was absolutely incredible and showed Norwich off as such a brilliant city.

I have for sure caught the festival bug and can't wait to go to another one!

P.s if you are reading this within around 30 days of it being posted and live in the UK you can watch all the acts on BBC's iplayer.

Summer is Coming

Over the past few months I have really missed blogging. I just haven't been able to make time and I really hopped that I would be able to but uni just caught up with me and I have had to slog through all the work. Fortunately it is all going to be over in 29 days (yes I am counting) and before that it is my 20th birthday!!!

I can't wait till the 11th May when I can forget about university until September and can enjoy my summer. I have a few exciting things to look forward too. the main thing being that i was lucky enough to get tickets to go to BBC Radio 1's big weekend that is in Norwich this year. So i can tick of seeing Taylor Swift and Sam Smith live off of my bucket list.

I also have a nice and relaxing week away with my parents to Somerset which means a week of reading while they look at the view of the sea and moan at me for reading so much!

And it also means I get to spend time with my cousin and getting to play tennis with him all summer!

I also hereby promise to upload at least a blog a week without fail!!!! I don't have ant reason not to and I really want to get into the swing of things on here as the few posts I have done I have really enjoyed.

So here is to a good summer filled with friends family and blogging ;)
